Ambala: A joint team of the health authorities and police sealed a private hospital allegedly being run by a quack, at Naraingarh on Sunday. Naraingarh Police, on the directions of senior medical officer (SMO) (Naraingarh) Dr Ram Prakash, lodged a case against the owner of the hospital, Rajiv Garg, under relevant sections of the IPC and Indian Medical Council Act 1956.
According to information, the team during the inspection at Sai Hospital found that Rajiv Garg was having an ICU, X-ray room and a laboratory in the hospital.
The team after getting the possession of the hospital’s record sealed the main gate. The accused owner is still at large.
In the six months of its operations, the hospital received 3,768 patients. A member from the inspection team said, “It was yet unknown that from where did Rajiv Garg learn about his profession.”
Karnail Singh, who had lodged the complaint on the CM grievances window, had alleged that about a dozen persons have died there. However, the staff claimed that about four patients had died till now but were unable to show any records.
